Mamie Allison Cole recounts her family’s history in Mount Holly, North Carolina and what life was like growing up in the area during the 1920s and 1930s. Interviewee Biography: Mamie Allison Cole was an 81-year-old woman at the time of the interview, which took place in her home in Mount Holly, North Carolina. She was born in Gaston County, North Carolina in 1922. She was employed at textile mills during World War II and worked as a newspaper reporter.
