SPRING 2019 

THURSDAY, MAY 16 – 4:30 P.M., Drinks and dinner (Dutch treat) at The Suffolk Punch, a brewery, coffee bar, American eatery and fermentation lab in South End.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24 – Morning tour of UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens and McMillan Greenhouse.   Led by Director Emeritus Dr. Larry Mellichamp.  Followed by Dutch treat lunch are Harrisburg Family House Restaurant.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10, 2 P.M., POPP-MARTIN STUDENT UNION – TIAA LECTURE: Conversations with Tayari Jones, best-selling author of “An American Marriage.”

TUESDAY, MARCH 26, 6:30 P.M:  UNC Charlotte Center City - PERSONALLY SPEAKING TALK:  “Award-Winning Novel Considers Impact of Teen’s Disappearance.” Speaker is UNC Charlotte faculty member Bryn Chancellor, author of award-winning novel “Sycamore.”

Tuesday, December 11th, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Bissell House Chancellor’s Residence, UNC Charlotte campus  – Chancellor’s Holiday Party

Thursday, November 8th, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Halton Room, Atkins Library, UNC Charlotte campus – Book-signing event for “Miss Bonnie’s Nurses: The First Fifty Years of Nursing at UNC Charlotte,” by Ann Mabe Newman, RN, PhD, and Dona Haney, RN, MSN.

Tuesday, October 16th, 2 p.m., Popp Martin Student Union, UNC Charlotte campus -- Chancellor’s Speaker Series lecture by internationally recognized futurist Dr. Michio Kaku.  Dutch treat lunch at Bistro 49 at 11:30 a.m.

Tuesday, October 9th – 9:30 a.m., PORTAL Building, UNC Charlotte campus – Presentation on development along Charlotte’s LYNX Blue Line light rail.  Followed by ride on light rail to Dutch treat lunch at Pike’s Old Fashioned Soda Shop, at East/West Blvd. stop.
