2002 24 Hours of Daytona
The photographs in this collection depict events associated with the 2002 24 Hours of Daytona, an endurance sports car race held at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, on February 2-3, 2002. The winner of the race was was the Doran Lista Racing team, which was made up of Didier Theys, Fredy Lienhard, Max Papis, and Mauro Baldi. The 2002 24 Hours of Daytona was the first round of the 2002 Rolex Sports Car Series.
2002 Brumos Continental Historics
The images in this collection document the 2002 Brumos Continental Historics, a motorsports event that took place at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, from October 31 through November 3. This four-day event consisted of a display of a variety of sports cars from classic manufacturers such as Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, and BMW. Lake Speed in his No. 83 Ford Thunderbird claimed victory over the 3.56-mile road course. The runner-up was Charles Piazza and third-place finisher was Gene Felton. Mike Borkowski and Steve Cohen in their 1992 Oldsmobile Aurora won the Rolex Historic Enduro. Driving team Duncan Dayton and Aaron Hsu won the Historic Thundersport feature in a 1988 Porsche 962. John Bourassa and Lance Stewart won the Rolex Classic GT Enduro in their 1973 Porsche 911.
2002 Budweiser Shootout

2002 Daytona 500
This group of collections offers a view of events and personalities associated with the 2002 Daytona 500, which took place at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, on February 17, 2002. Two of the collections document preliminary qualifying races for the Daytona 500, while another depicts stock car drivers and other motorsports personalities in the Daytona International Speedway garage in the days leading up to the Daytona 500. Ward Burton ultimately won the 2002 Daytona 500. Others finishing in the top ten were Elliott Sadler, Geoffrey Bodine, Kurt Busch, Michael Waltrip (featured in some of the images), Mark Martin, Ryan Newman, Sterling Marlin, Jeff Gordon, and Johnny Benson, Jr.
2002 Florida Dodge Dealers 250
The images in this collection are from the 2002 Dodge Dealers 250 at Daytona International Speedway on February 15, 2002, for what was then known as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Robert Pressley, driver of the No. 18 for Bobby Hamilton Racing, won the race by 0.113 seconds over Ted Musgrave. Brian Rosa, Joe Ruttman and Rick Carelli rounded out the top-five. Musgrave qualified on the pole with a speed of 187.0215 mph. The race was slowed six times for 21 laps for an average speed of 140.121 mph. The time of race was 1:47:03.
2002 International Race of Champions
The images in this collection are from the 2002 International Race of Champions (IROC) event held at Daytona International Speedway on February 15, 2002. The race was won by Tony Stewart. Sam Hornish, Jr., Scott Sharp, Jack Sprague and Al Unser, Jr. rounded out the top-five. The race included personalities from NASCAR, Indy Racing League, CART and the World of Outlaws. The duration of race was 0:34:10. The average speed of the race was 175.61 mph. Stewart beat Hornish to the line by 0.111 seconds.
