Sybil Lynne Scott was the daughter of stock car driver Wendell Scott. This interview was conducted at the Hampton Inn in Danville, Virginia.

Sybil Scott discusses the 30-year stock car racing career of her father, Wendell Scott. Mr. Scott is, to date, the only African American driver to win at NASCAR's highest level. Ms. Scott recalls how she and her siblings helped their father during races by scoring for him and working on the car. She also describes how her father dealt with the prejudice that he encountered and how he viewed himself competing in a predominately white sport. Other topics discussed include Mr. Scott's relationships with other drivers, his bad crash at Talladega in 1973, and the circumstances of his victory at Jacksonville.
